Does it make you want to scream? Catherine Zeta-Jones wore a dress seemingly inspired by Munch's favourite painting as she left her New York apartment
Catherine Zeta Jones seems to have taken inspiration from Munch's famous Scream painting for her latest fashion disaster frock.
The Welsh actress appeared in the swirly multi-coloured outfit, complete with floppy hat and black ballet pumps as she left her New York apartment earlier today.
The dress is the latest in a string of frumpy frocks Zeta-Jones has sported in recent weeks as she appears seven days a week in A Little Night Music on Broadway
Michael Douglas’ wife is also having to juggle the demanding musical role with caring for their two children, Dylan, nine and Carys, seven, which is a little different from when she last appeared on Broadway in the musical 42nd Street 20 years ago.
Inspiration? Catherine's dress channelled The Scream
When I did it 20 years ago, I had no children. I had no husband. I had no life,’ she told website Broadwayworld.com.
“I used to drive my Mini to the theatre, get there, do the show, drive the Mini back home.
‘It was like a hamster on a wheel and so just having my family and trying to… I hate the word juggle, but trying to make everyone not feel that they've lost their mother to the theatre because I'm coming back and I don't want them to be too scared!
'So that's been the only difficult thing, but everything else has been a joy.’
Hopefully it will all be worth it for the actress who has been nominated for a prestigious Tony award for her role.

Call in a stylist! While Catherine can look glamorous on the red carpet, she regularly gets it wrong while off-duty
