Reading love: Leona Lewis made sure she didn't forget the words for her 2007 hit on her birthday
Leona Lewis found international fame and musical success with her hit song Bleeding Love - so you think she would remember the words.
The X-Factor winner took to the stage in Las Vegas this week to belt out her most well-known tune with the lyrics written on her hand just in case.
But she could be forgiven for the prompts, she was singing at her own 25th birthday bash after all.
The slimmed down super-star sang her 2007 hit among other songs but clearly felt the need to note down a few key lyrics on her left hand to make sure her impromptu performance was not a flop.
The performance took place at Pure nightclub where the she was celebrating her birthday with eight friends who she had flown out to Sin City for the occasion.
In a change from her clean-cut image, Leona and her friends partied until the end of the night, quaffing champagne and vodka, although Leona refrained from drinking too much.
The star has been promoting her new album in recent months and has been sporting an 'edgier' look revealing a new tattoo which her long-term boyfriend apparently disapproved of.
Her latest body art?: The star who has a poem tattooed down her back sported more inked words on her hand, but they were only temporary
She first visited Las Vegas a few weeks ago where she was spotted holding hands with new BFF Spice Girls' Mel B.
The pair were at Caesars Palace to support former Bros singer Matt Goss at his debut concert.
Both stars have been living in LA recently and it seems being ex-pats in La La Land has helped them forge a close friendship.
Leona has recently spoken about losing weight from a size 14 to a size 10 by going on a detox after spending months in the studio.
The star who has always been conscious of her weight said she ate lots of vegetables, avoided all processed food and drank nothing but water for a whole month.
