She's been exploring a different style of late, experimenting with the kind of maxi skirts, head garlands and crochet numbers favoured in the 70s.

But earlier this week Vanessa Hudgens took hippy chic to the extreme as she stepped out in see-through lace trousers.

The 22-year-old actress paired the trousers with a orange fringe-tasseled suede waistcoat, a white laced top and accessorised with a cream fringed necklace.


On her feet the Sucker Punch star stepped out in a pair of wooden clog-style heels and finished off the look with a pair of orange-tinted aviators.

Vanessa who appears to be embracing her inner 70's hippy wore her hair long in loose curls which almost appeared matted.

The actress was out shopping with a friend at the Westfield Mall in Sherman Oaks when she displayed her latest retro look.

The day before she had sported a similar style as she went bowling with her co-star Josh Hutcherson.

While The High School Musical star has been keeping quiet about the blossoming relationship their actions on Wednesday spoke louder than words as they enjoyed a date at Pinz bowling alley.

Vanessa has been playing it extremely coy about the nature of her relationship with Journey 2 co-star Josh Hutcherson.

They enjoyed what looked for all the world like a romantic date at an LA bowling alley yesterday.

As they knocked back beers at the Studio City Pinz complex, Hutcherson put his arm around the brunette.

It rested comfortably across the star's chest and in the most telling sign of all, Hutcherson's hand was tightly intertwined with that of Hudgens.

The pair have been virtually inseparable of late, attending Lakers games together and partying side-by-side at the Coachella music festival earlier this month.

But while chatting to MailOnline at the premiere of Sucker Punch Vanessa refused to comment on her relationship but let out a telling giggle when questioned about Josh.
