Tears: Imogen Thomas says she is on anti-depressants following death threats from football fans


She has defended herself during the fallout from her affair with a married footballer, saying that 'feelings took over.'

But Imogen Thomas says she wouldn't be so forgiving if it happened to her.

'If my husband cheated on me, regardless of if there were kids involved, I would have to have some time by myself to figure out what I would want,' she says.


Imogen tells the new issue of Heat magazine that if she was his wife she would feel 'Very hurt. Disrespected, a little bit betrayed.

'I wouldn’t just accept it. For me, it’s disrespectful. I have thought about how the other person’s feeling, of course.'

The 28-year-old former Big Brother contestant admits she knew Ryan Giggs was married when she embarked on her affair with him, but denies that she hoped he would leave his wife for her.

'Yes, I did know he was married,' she says. 'It did concern me. But it was never going to blossom into anything. I didn’t really think about it.

'I really couldn’t help it, to be honest. Feelings take over.

'I never thought that far ahead. All I knew was that I was just totally in love with this man. I never thought we would get married. That’s ridiculous.'

'I loved him and I couldn’t control how I was feeling, but I never asked him to leave. I know I’ve said before that I would never get involved with a married man – it’s a no-go.

It was revealed this week that Imogen now carries a rape alarm with her following threats from angry football fans.

'They said they were going to stab my mum in the head, cut my face open and feed it to my little nephew, and also shoot him in the head,' she tells the magazine.

'Then I’d have to go and watch him at his funeral, a “rest in peace” kind of thing.

I’ve got the police involved, because my family are at risk and this person knows where I live.

Miss Thomas also reveals she is taking anti-depressants: 'I’m really fragile at the moment. I feel paranoid. It’s really affected me. I’m on tablets from the doctors.

'I can’t snap out of it. One day I’m OK, and the next day or even that afternoon I’m crying my eyes out.'

'There have been points where I think, “What’s the point any more?”, because I am hated. I think I’m seen as an evil homewrecker. A slut. And a slag.'

Imogen denies that she is back with her ex-boyfriend Jermaine Defoe.

The Welsh former Big Brother denied the allegations that she had reunited with the Tottenham player, who she dated in 2009, on Twitter.

Miss Thomas, who is currently enjoying a pampering break at health spa Champneys, wrote:‘IM ABSOLUTELY NOT IN CHAMPNEYS WITH JERMAIN DEFOE. IM HERE ALONE & HAVENT SEEN HIM.

‘NOT READY FOR ANOTHER MAN IN MY LIFE. CERTAINLY NOT EXS.’
