Keith Moreland joins Cubs radio booth
Former Chicago Cubs stalwart Keith Moreland will be the team's new radio color analyst, replacing Ron Santo, who died in December.Moreland, who had been the color analyst for Texas football and baseball, joins play-by-play man Pat Hughes.
"I'm very excited to work with a great broadcaster in Pat Hughes, a great team in the Cubs that I was lucky enough to play for and a great radio station that has the power to reach millions of Cubs fans," Moreland said in a statement. "I'm not a replacement for Ron Santo -- he's impossible to replace. All I can do is be me and strive to connect and build a relationship with Cubs fans everywhere."
I've given the Ricketts family every opportunity to show me they know what they are doing and they continue to dissappoint. Keith Moreland is a nobody in this town. And I know no one will replace Ron, he was as true a fan as there was, but Keith fucking Moreland, no one under 30 knows who the fuck this guy is. He spent 6 seasons with Cubs, might as well give the job to Kevin Orie or Doug Dascenzo. This hiring wrecks of Ricketts being as cheap as the old owners were.
