The family that prays together... Reese Witherspoon and boyfriend take her children to church. But why the glum faces?

For some children, being dragged out of bed to attend church on a Sunday is not the highlight of their weekend. It appears Reese Witherspoon's children are no different.

And her boyfriend Jim Toth didn't exactly looked thrilled with the outing either.

The trip to their local place of worship in Culver City, marks the first time Reese has ventured out with both her children, by ex-husband Ryan Phillipe, and her boyfriend of six months.

Reese, managing a smirk at one point, looked chic in her navy jumper, white skirt and retro yellow sunglasses, while the rest of her brood appeared to be dressed a little casually for church.

Her mini-me Ava, 10, looked sweet in a pink checked shirt, plaits and her favourite thick-framed glasses. And six-year-old Deacon wore a grey combo of a dog-print T-shirt and flip flops.

Jim hid his gloomy face behind aviators and a cap, and wore jeans, flip flops and a checked shirt. The talent agent has been dating Reese, 34, since February.

They were spotted going on dinner dates weeks after she split with actor Jake Gyllenhaal in January.

People magazine quoted a source recently who said they made a 'great couple.'

'They're super mellow,' said the source. 'They balance each other out. It seems like they both really like the way things are going.'

Reese is on a short break between filming Water For Elephants with Robert Pattinson, and her next film This Means War.

Witherspoon certainly seems to have a taste for love triangles at the moment, as This Means War, also starring Chris Pine and Inception actor Tom Hardy, is about two men fighting over a girl.

The plot is very similar to Reese's upcoming film How Do You Know, out in December.

Co-starring Paul Rudd and Owen Wilson, it is a romantic comedy about a professional female softball player who gets caught up in a love triangle with a corporate executive and a minor league baseball pitcher.

She was also recently listed as the joint second highest earning actress of last year by Forbes Magazine, along with Cameron Diaz, taking home around $32 million.
