NBC Conn – Just a week after winning a national championship, UConn’s Kemba Walker will announce he is leaving Storrs for the NBA. A media advisory from UConn said the school has scheduled a news conference for 3 p.m. Tuesday. There are no details in the advisory, but Mike Anthony of the Hartford Courant reports sources confirm Walker will announce his intentions to enter the NBA Draft.
It has been a hell of run for Kemba and UConn. Not sure we will ever see a team win 5 games in 5 days in the Big East tournament and then run the tables in the NCAA. But let's not mistake Kemba as an NBA star. I project Kemba to be more like a Ben Gordon type. Too small to play 2 guard and not a true point guard. I like his game, just not as the top scoring option for a team.
Maybe Kemba gets drafted in the top 10 this year only because its gonna be a weak draft. Kyrie Irving, Harrison Barnes, Sullinger, Derrick Williams and Terrence Jones are my top 5. But I'm hearing Barnes, Sullinger and Jones may stay.
There will probably a couple international guys drafted in the top 10 too. I hate foreigners.
