She made her name alongside Paris Hilton in The Simple Life - now Nicole Richie is starting her new role in The Married Life.
The reality TV star wed Good Charlotte rocker Joel Madden last night in front of around 130 guests at her father Lionel Richie's lavish Beverly Hills mansion.
The pair exchanged rings by jeweller Neil Lane during the winter-themed ceremony.
Singer Gwen Stefani, DJ Samantha Ronson, reality TV stars Khloe Kardashian and Kris Jenner are all said to have attended the affair, along with Nicole's godfather, music legend Quincy Jones.
Khloe, who has known the bride since childhood, tweeted from the ceremony: 'I love weddings!'
Celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe, who is pregnant, was spotted arriving at residence with husband Rodger Berman.
Rachel and Nicole had falling out in 2006 after severing their working relationship, but it's clear the pair are back on close terms.
The couple's 2-year-old daughter, Harlow, was the flower girl (they also have a son, Sparrow, 1) while Nicole's best friend Masha Gordon was chosen as maid of honour.
Joel's twin Benji attended, along with their brother Josh, a DJ, who tweeted in the early hours of this morning: 'The stuff of which memories are made.'
There was one guest who made a very big impression - the crowd was stunned to discover that a trained elephant called Tai was part of the nuptials.
And Run-DMC rapper Rev Run was said to have officiated at the ceremony.
'Joel and Nicole have looked up to Rev. Run, so they wanted him to officiate,' a wedding guest told Usmagazine.com.
The 46-year-old rapper, real name Joseph Simmons) is also a practicing minister.
'They both appreciate his family values and he is an inspiration for both. They both also respect his faith, too.'
Nicole is rumoured to have walked down the aisle in a $20,000 custom-made Marchesa gown, which she chose over a vintage Chanel frock.
Celebrity hairdresser Byron Williams of Byron & Tracey in Beverly Hills styled her locks.
'They wanted an Old Hollywood, glamorous feel to their wedding,' a source tells People magazine.

A vast team of caterers then toiled through the night in outside kitchens to keep the guests fed and watered as they partied into the early hours.
The guests feasted on home made butternut squash ravioli, filet mignon, truffle mushrooms risotto and seared ahi tuna.
Lionel’s outdoor area had been transformed for the ceremony, with white chairs and tables and a source close to the project said that an impressive dance floor had been constructed over the pool.
'It’s kind of cool because people will be dancing on top of the water,' the insider noted.

The couple are rumoured to have sold their wedding photos exclusively to a U.S. magazine for $100,000, which they will give to charity.
Kim Kardashian and Christina Aguilera were thought to have been invited to the ceremony, however Kim is currently in Miami while Christina is in London after appearing on The X Factor.
But there was another notable absence - Nicole's former best friend Paris Hilton did not make the guest list, say sources.
An insider revealed: 'Nicole's wedding will be super small, and a lot of people who have played a role in her life like Paris have been cut from the guest list.

Earlier this year Nicole refused to talk about the rift between her and Paris Hilton - her one-time best friend.
The pair, pals since childhood, fell out in 2005. She told USA Today: 'I don't speak about her.'
Nicole and Joel, who have been together for four years, announced their engagement in February.
Her friends threw her a luxurious bachelorette party in Mexico in September.
