Cops need 4 taserings to Stop Pitt Lineman
Fox – Former Pitt lineman Fernando Diaz was so drunk and disorderly that he had to be Tased four times by police during his arrest last weekend, according to a report in The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Diaz, a redshirted freshman who had previous run-ins with the law and left the team last year amid a host of discipline problems for the Panthers, was obstructing traffic in the Pittsburgh suburb of Oakland Saturday night, according to the report.
This comes on the heels of the recent Sports Ilustrated story on criminal records and crime among college football players. (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2011/writers/the_bonus/02/27/cfb.crime/index.html)
And it seems appropriate, considering Pitt led all schools with 22 players with criminal records, beating *cough ahem Iowa cough* who had 18. Way to come up short again Hawks.
But on the bright side for Diaz, at least he didn't throw anyone threw a plate glass window of an art gallery, like his teammate Jabaal Sheard did last September. So from my point of view, a drunk and disorderly is a step in the right direction. Baby steps Pitt, baby steps.
