What ARE you wearing?! Helen Flanagan shows off massive granny pants at yet another Corrie 50th anniversary bash

By Sarah Fitzmaurice

She is no stranger to strutting her stuff on screen in racy underwear as Coronation Street’s resident temptress.

But Helen Flanagan made a serious fashion fail as she showed off a pair of highly unflattering pants last night.

She was attending yet another party to celebrate the soap's 50th birthday, following one after the live episode on Thursday and another in September.

The 20-year-old made a serious fashion faux pas wearing a plunging floor length gown with a split meeting above her navel which flapped open to reveal her massive knickers.

The pale yellow dress did little to keep her warm in the chilly temperatures as she walked up to the glitzy big bash at the Hilton Hotel in Manchester, leaving her legs looking purple and mottled.

Teaming her unwise wardrobe choice with a pair of bright yellow stilettos, a small clutch bag and bold red lipstick, she did little to redeem herself in the fashion stakes.

But not everybody got it wrong and Helen’s co-stars Michelle Keegan, Brooke Vincent and Katherine Kelly shone in on-trend winter white.

Despite being killed off as Molly Dobbs in the live episode on Friday, Vicky Binns looked lovely in a purple, grecian-inspired drape dress.

Putting their best fashion foot forward Sacha Parkinson wore a simple red frock whilst Georgia May Foote smouldered in a racy backless LBD.

And the glamour was not left to the soap’s youngsters as the ladies of the street certainly upped the anti in the fashion stakes.

Shobna Gulati looked stunning in a layered lace number while Sally Dynevor opted for a corseted structured number.

Beverley Callard showed off a sparklingly silver gown which revealed just a little too much cleavage whilst Denise Welch settled on a satin dress, in on-trend red.

There were more blasts from the past as Corrie’s stars past and present joined in the celebrations, including a rather dressed down Angela Griffin who arrived at the posh do in her Ugg boots and her a leopard print coat.

And the boys didn’t let the team down with the male attendees looking dapper in their smart suits.

Ryan Thomas, Alan Halsall and Jack Shepard all made the effort to impress for the glitzy bash.

The ball was the third big party to celebrate the show’s 50th birthday and the successful live episode aired on Thursday night.

After the death and devastation of the live show the stars hit the town to celebrate at Sakura Japanese restaurant in Manchester.

The live episode which was watched by an estimated 15 million viewers last night received rave reviews from fans and critics alike despite a few minor bloopers.

The ambitious show involved 65 actors and a 300-strong crew portraying the aftermath of a devastating gas explosion and tram crash.

Molly Dobbs and Ashley Peacock died in the aftermath of the disasters, while Pete Barlow has was left fighting for his life in hospital.
