Coleen makes a smooth entrance while Alex has to duck a low-flying bag as the WAGs come out in force for annual Christmas bash

Caped crusader: Coleen Rooney shows a clean pair of Christian Louboutin heels as she arrives at the Cricket annual Christmas bash in Liverpool

The WAGs of Liverpool seem to spend more time in the Cricket clothing boutique than in the spray tan booth or on holiday in Dubai.

Just this week Coleen Rooney was spotted buying armfuls of clothes and piles of designer shoes in the store during a two-hour shopping spree.

So it is little surprise that Coleen and fellow WAGs Alex Gerrard and Sheree Murphy would eagerly accept invitations to their favourite boutique's annual Christmas party.

In fact Alex Gerrard was so eager to get to the party in Liverpool last night, that she forgot to watch where she was walking, and almost walked face-first into a decorative tree laden with Cricket shopping bags.

The WAGs left their husbands and babies at home for a girls night out at the bash, held at the Olive Press Bar and Grill.

A spokesperson for the store told the Mail Online: 'It was a really fun, light-hearted party. It went on quite late and everyone had a great time.'

Coleen, 24, wore a black and white print dress with Christian Louboutin slingback heels for the dinner, and a black cape coat.

She showed off her mid-winter tan with bare legs, seemingly unconcerned by the freezing Northern temps.

Alex Gerrard was even less bothered by the weather, stepping out in a short slashed dress which showed off her back and legs. The 28-year-old accessorised with a pair of studded ankle boots.

Alex would have been keen to show off her toned figure after adopting a new fitness regime in recent weeks.

She has been spotted braving the cold and snow to be put through her paces by her personal trainer with a ViPR tube (Vitality, Performance and Reconditioning) outside.

Coleen and Alex were joined by fellow WAG Sheree Murphy, wife of Harry Kewell, at the event.

The 35-year-old actress, in a very short silver and black dress, arrived just as the snow started falling, and posed for a few quick shots before dashing inside to the warmth.

The restaurant underwent a WAG-worthy transformation for the occasion, decked out with a pink carpet, white trees adorned with Cricket shopping bags and fairy lights.

Coleen was spotted admiring one of the Cricket Christmas party invitations while shopping in the store with husband Wayne's cousin Claire earlier this week.

The coveted invite, this year in the form of a snow globe, is a must-have for designer-clad Liverpool residents.

The head WAGS also attended last year's Christmas party, held at the Noble House restaurant and bar.

A spokesperson for the boutique said at the time: 'It was the shop's official Christmas dinner and an opportunity for us to say thank you to all our girls, staff and clients, for their support.'
